Privacy policy

In short

This site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking of any kind, embeds nothing from other servers and has no forms. The only personal data involved are the technical data any web server sees, and the content of any email you choose to send.

Controller

The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the person named in the legal notice above, reachable at contact@astraeaberlin.org.

Visiting the site

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, your browser sends the host the data needed to deliver it: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser’s user-agent string. The host processes these data to deliver the site and to protect it against abuse, and may keep them briefly in server logs. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The site itself does not store or evaluate them.

All typefaces, images and code are served from this site’s own address, so your browser makes no requests to any other company.

Writing an email

Messages to contact@astraeaberlin.org are received by Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards them to a mailbox at Google (Gmail). Both companies process them on the Triangle’s behalf and only to deliver them, and both are covered by the European Commission’s adequacy decision for certified U.S. companies (Art. 45 GDPR).

If you write to the Triangle, your address and message are used only to reply to you and to continue the conversation you started. They are not passed on to anyone, and they are deleted when they are no longer needed for that purpose. The legal basis is your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR).

A message about Freemasonry may reveal something about your religious or philosophical convictions, which the GDPR treats as a special category of data. By choosing to share such information you consent to its use for replying to you (Art. 9 (2) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw that consent at any time, and the messages will then be deleted. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Your rights

You have the right to access the data held about you, to have them corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to their processing, and to receive them in a portable format (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). To use any of these rights, write to the address above.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Berlin this is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
